The Associate Degree in Commerce (ADC) is a two-year undergraduate program designed to build strong foundational knowledge in accounting, finance, economics, management, and business operations. The program blends theory with practical insights, preparing students for advanced studies in commerce as well as entry-level roles in the corporate and public sectors.

Dr. Sajida Hassan
Head of Department – HoD
Dr. Sajida Hassan is an accomplished psychologist with over 20 years of experience in child and adolescent psychology. She holds a Ph.D. in Child Psychology from the University of Leicester, UK, under the supervision of Prof. Panos Vostanis. She also earned a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. A double gold medalist in Clinical Psychology from the University of Karachi, she secured the first position in her academic achievements.
Dr. Sajida is currently an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the Department of Psychology, University of Leicester (UK). She has led numerous training programs in child and adolescent psychology for educators, parents, and professionals since 2007. Additionally, she has completed the Art Therapy Foundation Course training from the British and Dubai Art Therapy Association and regularly conducts healing art training courses.
Her expertise extends to international research collaborations with esteemed institutions, including the University of Leicester, the Wellcome Trust (UK), the Anna Freud Trust, and the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) in partnership with WACIT (UK). Her dedication to research excellence earned her the Rights for Time Network, University of Birmingham, UK Research Award 2023, for her project exploring the transformation from trauma to resilience over time.
With a strong commitment to psychological research and training, Dr. Sajida continues to contribute significantly to the field, empowering individuals and fostering mental well-being across diverse populations.
Dr. Syed Jamil H. Kazmi
Executive Director, FHES; Senior Lecturer, Department of Psychology
Dr. Syed Jamil H. Kazmi currently serves as the Executive Director of FHES and Vice-Chancellor (Designate) of Fatimiyah International University, alongside his role as a Meritorious Professor at the University of Karachi with over 35 years of academic, research, and administrative experience. He has previously held key positions, including Chairman of the Department of Geography (twice), Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), and Director of ISPA at University of Karachi.
He earned his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Karachi (1997) and completed Post-Doctoral research at the University of Georgia, USA (1998-99) under the Senior Fulbright Scholarship. He was also a Senior DAAD Fellow at Humboldt University, Germany (2018-19) and a Senior Research Associate at LASA lab., University of British Columbia, Canada. Dr. Kazmi has published extensively in Geo-informatics, Environmental Modeling, and Disease Ecology, with over 140 research publications and four books, including the Oxford School Atlas. He serves as Editor for six international journals and has one of the highest impact factors and citation rankings among Pakistani geography and GIS professors. An HEC-approved Ph.D. supervisor, he has guided 40 Ph.D. and 18 MPhil scholars and played a key role in developing geography curricula for HEC. As a consultant, he has worked with global organizations, including the World Bank, ADB, UNDP, FAO, NASA, and WWF, completing over 100 projects in GIS, Remote Sensing, and Environmental Impact Assessments. Dr. Kazmi has trained 6,000+ professionals and actively contributed to international conferences, including AAG, ESRI, URISA, IGU, and IUCN. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including:

Ms. Komal Zehra
Program Coordinator & Lecturer
Ms. Komal Zehra is an academic and organizational psychologist specializing in teaching, research, and program coordination. She is currently a Lecturer in Psychology at Fatimiyah Higher Education System (FHES), where she teaches courses exploring psychological principles, human behavior, and research methodologies. In her role as Program Coordinator, she manages academic and administrative functions, including faculty scheduling, student advising, admissions, and co-curricular programs, ensuring a structured and enriching educational experience.
Her research interests span workplace psychology, employee motivation, and leadership dynamics, with contributions to studies on toxic leadership, workplace discrimination, mindfulness during the COVID-19 pandemic, and gender-based parental influences on Machiavellianism. Beyond academia, Ms. Zehra has extensive experience in corporate training, business communication, and administrative coordination at international ventures. She has played strategic roles in streamlining operations, enhancing organizational communication, and managing recruitment and performance evaluations. Additionally, she has contributed to corporate training programs and psychological assessments, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
Ms. Zehra is committed to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment. She integrates psychological principles with real-world applications, equipping students with the critical thinking and professional skills necessary for academic and career success.
Ms. Zahra Ali Syed
Lecturer
Ms. Zahra Ali Syed is a sociology instructor at Department of Psychology, FHES and a visiting faculty member in Development Studies at NED University. She holds a Master’s in Media, Ethics, and Social Change from the University of Sussex, with research focusing on media bias, Islamophobia, societal narratives, and climate justice. With 17+ years of experience, she has taught at IBA, IVS, and Habib University, where she has designed and led courses on environmental ethics, sustainable urban development, and climate communication.
As the founder of The Green Pilgrim, she has pioneered research on sustainable pilgrimage practices, collaborating with the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (A) and presenting at global forums, including Allama Tabatabai University (Tehran), the University of Exeter (UK), and the Sustainable Arbaeen Conference. She has also worked with UNICEF and Tearfund on gender-inclusive climate adaptation frameworks and designed advocacy strategies integrating cultural and religious practices.
Through her initiative Crops in Pots, Zahra has engaged 15,000+ youth in eco-literacy since 2008. A freelance environmental journalist, she has contributed to Dawn, The Express Tribune, and The Friday Times on environmental justice. Her published works include “Ali Asghar Did Not Return” (2024), with upcoming titles such as “Murderers of Karbala” and “Azadari in Karachi: A Tapestry of Faith, Culture, and Community”.
Her expertise spans ethnographic research, social behavior change (SBC) communication, and stakeholder engagement across South Asia and the Middle East. She remains dedicated to climate advocacy, education, and sustainability, shaping discourse on environmental ethics and social change.
Mr. Saboor Hussain
Lecturer
Mr. Saboor Hussain is a distinguished academic and administrator with extensive experience in civic studies, public administration, and institutional management. He holds a Master’s in Administrative Sciences (Gold Medalist) from the University of Karachi, a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Public Administration, and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Statistics from the same institution.
As a Lecturer of Civics at the Department of Psychology, Mr. Saboor is committed to equipping students with a profound understanding of governance, political systems, law, and public policy.
Beyond academia, Mr. Saboor serves as the Assistant Director of Administration and HR at FHES, where he has played a key role in developing administrative frameworks, managing university documentation for HEC accreditation, and ensuring institutional efficiency.
His professional journey includes leadership roles such as Head of Operations at the Institute of Historical and Social Research (IHSR), where he successfully managed financial operations, collaborated with publishers and researchers, and organized national and international conferences. At Fatimiyah Group (FEN), he was instrumental in coordinating large-scale events, liaising with government bodies, and leading organizational reporting.
With his strong academic background, leadership experience, and commitment to public affairs, Mr. Saboor continues to make significant contributions to both education and institutional development. His dedication to academic excellence and civic education makes him an invaluable member of the Fatimiyah International University faculty.
Mr. Ali Hassan Shigri
Lecturer
Ali Hassan Shigri is a dedicated scholar and educator with an extensive academic background in Islamic Studies and related disciplines. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Karachi, further expanding his expertise in the field. His commitment to academic excellence is reflected in his two MPhil degrees—one from MIU International University and another from the University of Karachi—as well as his two Master’s degrees, which provide him with a diverse and well-rounded perspective on Islamic scholarship, history, and contemporary issues.
With a strong foundation in both research and teaching, Mr. Shigri has previously served as a faculty member at MIU International University, the University of Karachi, and SMI University. His teaching experience spans various aspects of Islamic theology, jurisprudence, ethics, and historical studies, equipping students with a deep understanding of religious principles and their application in modern society.
At FHES, Mr. Shigri is dedicated to fostering a thought-provoking and inclusive learning environment. His approach combines classical Islamic teachings with contemporary discussions, encouraging students to engage critically with religious texts and explore their relevance in today’s world.
Ms. Haseen Fatima
Visiting Faculty
Ms. Haseen Fatima is an Urdu and Education lecturer at the Department of Psychology, FHES; alongside her role as Assistant Professor at Government Degree College, with extensive experience in teaching, administration, and educational leadership. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Teacher Education from Allama Iqbal Open University and holds an M.Phil. in Education, M.Ed., and a Post-Graduate Diploma in HRM from IBA Karachi, where she secured first position with a gold medal. Additionally, she has a Master’s in Urdu from Karachi University.
With over a decade of experience in higher education, she has served as Principal and D.D.O. in multiple colleges alongside her teaching role. Her previous roles include Assistant Director and Assistant Project Coordinator at Sindh Education Foundation (SEF), where she managed educational development projects and a Complaint Cell to enhance educational governance. She also worked as a Junior School Teacher for 11 years and has 14 years of administrative experience in Technical Education. Beyond academia, she actively engages in corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, serving as a Focal Person for an NGO promoting the Ideology of Pakistan and Leadership Skills in students. She also collaborated with DC Central Karachi on a city beautification project, involving students in underpass mural painting. Recognized for her contributions, she has received multiple gold medals, including from Iqra University, IBA Karachi, and an NGO for voluntary service in Karachi and interior Sindh. With expertise in academic leadership, research, and community engagement, she remains committed to educational excellence and youth development.
